The genesis of Koerswiel
Koerswiel was born from the idea that as cyclists we like to show in everyday life that we are cyclists or love it. Some people do this through a cool tattoo, drink cycling coffee in a cycling cafe or talk about the Tour, the Giro and the Vuelta all summer. With Koerswiel's clothing you can be able to express the real cycling atmosphere even when you're not in the saddle! And this is not only fun to wear, but it is also the perfect gift for a cyclist!
Our vision
At Koerswiel, we always try to make the sustainable choice. For example, we ship our products as much as possible in letterbox packages, we make sure we have good sizing charts as much as possible to prevent returns, and we ship in special packaging that can be reused if a return does occur! We are daily creating and embroidering our own designs on high quality clothing. We also have an eye for sustainability, selling products made from organic or recycled materials whenever possible. We strive for long-lasting good material, so we use threads that are suitable for frequent wear and washing.
Why koerswiel?
Cycling, who doesn't love it? Nowadays almost every household has a racing bike in the garage. How wonderful it is to get on your bike on a summer day, in the evening, after work, to clear your head in the Dutch wind. Or at the weekend with a group of friends or another club to make a nice round, take a break for a cup of coffee (with apple pie of course!) fill up your water bottles and jump back in the saddle. Of course you can also take your bike on vacation, explore the mountains in France just like the men in the Tour do, take bowls in places where secretly not so many people come or just in places where the big names ride. To be able to measure yourself against the greats; an experience richer, illusion poorer but perhaps we shouldn't talk about that for the moment.... We all sometimes imagine ourselves in a real race, dreaming about winning the final sprint or being alone in the breakaway while we are actually just riding on the village road in our own village. Cycling is a beautiful sport and it's time for a real cycling clothing site!
Custom made
Because we embroider our own clothing we can easily deviate from the standard products in our webshop. Would you like a different combination of embroidery and product or do you have a very nice idea of your own? Just let us know! We can always see what we can do for you. Maybe we will make a limited edition for you or maybe, thanks to your tip, the (customized) product will appear in the webshop! Other sizes/colors are also possible.
Who we are
We are Stijn and Caroline and founded Koerswiel together in 2019! At that time, we were both part of the national Paralympic selection for (track) cycling and we thought it would be fun to do something else besides our races and training!
